Introducing The Color of the Year – Living Coral 16-1546

Pantone 16-1546 Living Coral has been announced as the Color of the Year for 2019 by Pantone Color Institute. This coral hue has a golden undertone that is vibrant yet subtle providing warmth and a sense of comfort while keeping last year’s Color of the Year within reach.

Living Coral was chosen to symbolize the increasing desire for authentic engagement in the ever-changing digital world. We are spending more time online and less time face to face. Automation and convenience are becoming a part of the fabric of our society. Living Coral represents our need to connect and socialize even in the advancing world of technology.

The choice of Living Coral by the Pantone Color Institute is also in recognition of the endangered coral reef ecosystem. Known as the “Rainforest of the Seas,” the coral reefs are home to 25% of the ocean’s wildlife. Through natural and human-made disasters, the coral reefs are slowly dying. This choice of color is to bring awareness to the beauty within our oceans.
